How To Volunteer

The strength of an organization such as IMAPS or the Microelectronics Foundation is directly related to the societies volunteer efforts. There are many ways IMAPS members can help the foundation. One of the main methods of helping is to see if your company has an educational foundation and you can contact them to see if they will support an educational grant to the IMAPS Microelectronic Foundation.

Companies may want to participate in a more active way, such as sponsoring paper contests. These contests can be named for the company supporting an award. The cost for a named award is $3000, with $2000 going to the contest winner and the surplus after expenses going towards the foundation endowment funds. However terms and conditions are negotiable.

You can help at a local level by organizing an event such a golf tournament or a bowling night or some other type of social function. The main point is the attendees have fun and want to do it again, but at the same time funds can be sent to the Foundation to help build the endowment. However if a local chapter would like the funds used for a specific purpose such as travel funds for local student members to travel to a workshop or conference this is also ok.

Do you have an interest in trying to apply for a government grant on behalf of a school project and the Foundation. Then lets talk.

If you would like to get involved and help the foundation, then we need to hear from you. If you have a fund raising idea and would like help we would like to hear from you. If you want to talk with your company about having them support a foundation event contact us for support information.
